About Our Founder
Gene Pindzia is founder and president of Riverside Custom Design + Remodeling, Ltd. and has been part of the remodeling industry for over 25 years. Gene worked as a financial analyst for Ford Motor Co. for 16 years before a job transfer/relocation prompted him to live his dream and start his own remodeling/construction business. Gene has been incorporated and has operated Riverside full time since 1990. During that time he has won Remodeling Magazine's prestigious "Big 50" award in 1998, won Qualified Remodeler national kitchen design contest in 1997, has won six Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence cumulatively in 2000, 2001 and 2002; won second place in the Qualified Remodeler Master's awards for best bathroom in 1999.
Gene has had projects photographed and featured in many national industry and consumer publications (Remodeling, Better Homes and Gardens, Midwest Living, Kitchen & Bath Design News, Woman's Day) and has three bathroom remodeling projects featured in an international "Bathrooms" book, a remodeling project featured in "The Ultimate Bath" book published by Publication International, Ltd., Illinois; an award winning kitchen project (2001) featured in "Cottage Style"; and a kitchen remodeling project featured in "Great American Kitchens - Volume 3".
Gene was active in the Michigan Remodeling Association/NARI and served on its Board of Directors for two years prior to its dissolution. He is currently a member of the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders).
Gene lives his dream daily with his brother, Allan Pindzia, serving as project manager.
